Smart
Hydroponic Monitoring & Controlling System
Hello all I am Kritesh and in this blog we will learn about Smart Hydroponic Monitoring & Controlling System.
The development of hydroponics
has not been rapid. In the U.S., interest began to develop in the possible use
of complete nutrient solutions about 1925. Greenhouse soils had to be replaced
at frequent intervals or be maintained from year to year by adding large
quantities of commercial fertilizers. As a result of these difficulties, research
workers in certain U.S. agricultural experiment stations turned to nutrient
solution culture methods as a means of Design and Implementation of Smart

Objective
of Smart Hydroponic Monitoring & Controlling System:-
·
With
hydroponics you can grow inside of climate controlled environments allowing for
multiple growing seasons through the year.
·
You
can harvest certain crops such as lettuce in as little as three weeks.
·
Can
produce green fodder within 10 – 12 days.
·
Required
Minimum Water.
Scope of Smart
Hydroponic Monitoring & Controlling System:-
·
Add internet support and update the readings to a server.
·
Create a computer application that can be used to read the
readings from the HW and display them nicely to the user.
·
Give BT support so that the controller can interact with phones
and computers.
Advantages:-
·
With hydroponics
you can grow inside of climate controlled environments allowing for multiple
growing seasons through the year.
·
You can harvest
certain crops such as lettuce in as little as three weeks.
·
Can produce green
fodder within 10 – 12 days.
·
Required Minimum
Water.
Disadvantages:-
·
It requires
constant supervision.
·
Technical
Knowledge is required to grow plants using hydroponics.
·
Water based
microorganisms can easily be introduced.
Application:-
·
Hydroponic gardening is being used by countries
like Australia.
·
Now a day’s people in India are also getting
aware and they are also adopting this method.

Hydroponic in India
In India, hydroponics still remains an alien concept for most, except for a handful of urban gardeners or organic farmers who practise it in constricted
urban spaces. However, away from the limelight, Ayurvet seems to have been
deploying the technique for almost the last 1.5 decade, to aid the helpless
villagers in Rajasthan’s Bikaner, Udaipur and Jaipur.“Chemical-free fodder is
key to safe milk production. With the constraint of declining agricultural land
and water Hydroponics Technology is really fulfilling the need.

Conclusion:-
This study designs a smart monitoring and control system for aquaponics
based on Open Wrt, which is intelligent, accurate and real time and can release
the users from the hard working conditions. As one of typical applications,
more and more people realize the application of the IoT (Internet of Things)
will bring broad development to the smart life. Meanwhile, we have an idea that
the device of aquaponics can be connected with social communication platform,
which can realize a wonderful dream that people can interact with their
ornamental fish and hydroponic plants on line through a mobile terminal.
Future Scope:-
Hydroponic farming can have a great future in India if it’s value is
known and understood to the people. Hydroponic is a method of growing plants
using mineral nutrients solutions in water without soil.
In coming years India really needs such farming methods as
1. It produces higher yield than the traditional soil based agriculture.
2. Growing medium can be used and recycled.
3. Hydroponics plants have a higher pest resistance which eliminates the
higher use of pesticides.
4. It is eco-friendly as it reduces soil erosion as well as water
pollution.
